The Hoot is a weekly gathering of musicians at The Garagery in Saranac Lake, New York. Hosted and produced by Charlie Reinertsen of Twolined Studio, musicians and listeners are welcome Monday nights at The Garagery from 6:30-9:30 pm.

Every Hoot night includes performances from Featured Artists. Your host Charlie Reinertsen warms up the stage from 6:30-7:00 pm, and our Featured Artist of the night takes the stage from 7:00-7:45 pm. Check our seasonal line-up to see who is featuring at the Hoot.

Each musician gets an 8-minute set: 2 short songs or one longer one
Sign-up is open from 6:30-7:15 pm on the night of the Hoot

Please store your instruments in the tuning room – head up the stairs to the left of the stage
When you are up next, tune up in the back room and stand on the balcony to the left of the stage
Check our seasonal line-up to make sure the Hoot is open – if the date isn’t listed, we’re on break!
Hoot Show nights (ticketed events) do not include an open mic

It doesn’t happen every Hoot, but when it does, it’s magic. All musicians from the evening are invited to take turns leading a song, and everyone plays and sings along. These are typically acoustic sessions, but sometimes we plug in.

Ticketed Hoot Shows feature North Country songwriters and Distinguished Guests from around the country. Check our seasonal line-up and follow the Twolined Studio Eventbrite page to be notified as soon as Hoot Show tickets become available. Proceeds from Hoot Shows go towards operations at the Saranac Lake Hootenanny.

Featured Artist sets are filmed and shared on Twolined Studio’s Youtube Channel every week. Follow the link and subscribe to support live music and to be notified when new films drop. Open Mic performances are filmed on the first Monday of the month.

Rather than wading through the full-length film on Youtube to find and download your performance with Youtube Premium or via screen recording apps, you can hire Twolined Studio to do the work for you. Send Charlie an email to request your film, and please specify whether you’d like a vertical or horizontal format for your digital download.

The Open Mic is filmed on the first Monday of the month. If you loved someone’s set at the First Monday Open Mic, you can hire Twolined Studio to send them a digital download of their set!

Here’s how it works:
Email Charlie and tell him the musician you’d like to sponsor.
Charlie will cut the set and send a digital download to the musician, with a note saying that you sponsored the film (unless you’d like to remain anonymous!)
Charlie will also post a clip of the set to the Saranac Lake Hootenanny social media pages, with mention that the film was supported by a friend of the Hoot
